Empowering Drivers
Discover the road to independence. Unleash your potential one mile at a time.
Hello! I’m Heather Ackart, a licensed occupational therapist and certified driving rehabilitation specialist based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology with a focus on cognitive neuroscience, which sparked my deep fascination with the brain and its intricacies. Building on this foundation, I furthered my studies at CSU (Go Rams!) and earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy. This educational journey underscored the importance of promoting independence, cultivating a sense of belonging, and enhancing accessibility within the community. Engaging in meaningful activities and connections significantly boosts our quality of life. I also recognize that each individual’s situation is distinct and that everyone deserves a personalized approach rooted in equity.
Raised in a family with a rich cultural background and diverse neurological perspectives, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the unique ways each of us perceives the world. This understanding has driven my passion for assisting others in harnessing their strengths, creating strategies to overcome obstacles, and ultimately, achieve their goals. I strongly believe in valuing each person's diverse abilities and understanding that challenges often lie in the environment or task, rather than within the individual.
Just as there are many paths to learning, there are many ways to achieve independence with driving. Let me guide you on your journey to finding the road that works best for you!
